Static Stretching
Static stretching is a type of stretching exercise where you lengthen a muscle to the point of mild discomfort and hold that position for a set period without any bouncing or movement. This type of stretching is done without any dynamic movements and is generally done in a slow and controlled manner.
When should I do Static Stretching?
Static stretching is commonly performed during the cool-down phase of a workout. After you've completed your exercise routine, holding static stretches can help relax and lengthen muscles, preventing post-exercise muscle stiffness and improving overall flexibility.
It's generally not recommended to perform static stretching as part of a warm-up routine before vigorous exercise. Instead, dynamic stretching or light aerobic activities are better for preparing the body for physical activity.
